Stray from Right Path & Be Destroyed: More Textbook Fear-mongering

“If we disobey Allah, and ignore his commands, we might enjoy life for a while just like the people of ‘Ad. However, in the end they were punished and destroyed. Similarly, unless we stay on the right path, we, too, might suffer punishment and destruction.”

“If we disobey Allah and ignore his commands, we might enjoy life for a while. The ‘Ad and Thamud people enjoyed life for a while. But in the end, they were punished and destroyed. Similarly, unless we stay on the right path, may also suffer punishment and destruction.”

A reader from Texas writes in with another worrying textbook:

I have been reading your blog for a while. I found it while googling information about religious views having a puppy in my house and found your post about dogs. I was moved by Halima’s daughter’s Jinn trauma. Now I have something to share with you.

My daughter is 13 and has been attending the local Sunday school Islam classes for a while. She recently began asking me questions: “Mom, you don’t wear your headscarf – aren’t afraid of going to hell?”

“Is God going to destroy us like he did with ‘Ad and Thamud’s people?”.

I can’t believe a 13-year old is walking around trying to figure out what her punishment or my punishment in the after-life would be for not covering my head.

I figured out that she was learning this from her “Weekend Learning” textbook (which like Yahya Emerick’s textbook is also available on Amazon). See the photos I’m attaching.

My daughter is being taught that if she strayed from the “straight path” (whatever that is) she’ll be destroyed by God.

Please warn other parents to be aware of these textbooks. Children should be taught to love God, not fear being terrorized by God.”
